Time for storytelling

Last week I had to do some storytelling in my English didactics class at university. So I chose one of the Angelina Ballerina books. I love the book and everyone in class loved it, too.

So, how did I tell it? I didn't know what to do first. I wanted everyone in the classroom to be able to see the powerful images of Angelina Ballerina and her little cousin Henry at the fair, so I decided to scan all the most important pictures in the book and I made a powerpoint presentation. Then I added some music (merry go round music, haunted house music, the sounds of roller coasters...) to create a fair atmosphere. Everyone loved it and they enjoyed it a lot, which made me very very happy, since it was my first try. I left the book on the table next to me and used it only to present the story to the audience. I think I will do it like this the following times I tell a story in the classroom since the creating of the atmosphere made the audience understand the story better.

Here's my favorite part in the story !

And here you have an example of the haunted house music i was talking about:

Hope this helped you and let me know if you have questions or suggestions. Thanks !

Some months later...

Oh this is too bad! I left my little blog behind for several months..

So the first part of the teacher training ended in December and I had the greatest stay at school. The second and last part of the training is about to begin in one week. It will be my turn to show what I have learned during the first period, I will have to teach 10 sessions, which will end up being 20 since there are two second grade classes. Yes! I chose to teach second grade and guess the topic...!! It will be the jungle!! I am happy! But I am scared at the same moment, that I have to say. I have it all prepared, but I am totally scared. It's the same feeling every year. But, oh, I forgot to say... I will be a teacher by the end of June! Yippie !! I am graduating from my primary teacher studies in June! I am totally looking forward to it.

People are telling me to send out curriculums and start looking for jobs. I already wrote to two places where I'd like to work, but who knows where I'll end up and what I'll end up doing. I hope it will be a great place.
